Conditions treated

Patients may be referred to Macquarie Hand Unit for management of conditions affecting the hand and upper limb, including, but not limited to:

  • arthritis of the thumb, fingers and wrist
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • finger fractures
  • wrist fractures
  • scaphoid fractures
  • workplace trauma
  • tendinitis
  • DeQuervain's tendinitis
  • tendon injuries
  • sports injuries of the hand and wrist
  • nerve compression disorders

You will need a referral to see the hand surgeons at Macquarie Hand Surgery, and this may be obtained from your GP. 

You will not need a referral to attend Macquarie Hand Therapy unless the condition is covered by Workers Compensation or DVA.
